Privacy policy

This page describes what data the Shaxs.uz website (the site) collects, why, and how the Shaxs.uz editors (the editors) handle it.

Visitors

The site can be read without registering. For its statistics the site itself, with no third-party counters, records page views, time on a page, scroll depth, clicks on links to social media and searches made on the site.

• The IP address is used only to tell the country and city and as part of an anonymous identifier that changes every day. The address itself is not stored.
• The device type, browser and operating system are read from what the browser sends.
• Visit records are kept for 13 months and then deleted; after that only anonymous daily totals remain.
• No cookies are used to count visits. What the site keeps in your browser is listed on the Cookies page.

Authors

To suggest people and edits, an author registers with a name, an email address and a password. The password is stored only in encrypted form. The email address is used to confirm it and to reset the password. The author's suggestions and the editors' decisions on them are kept too. The registration form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out.

Feedback

When you write to the Telegram bot @shaxsuz_bot, the editors receive your message, your name and your Telegram username in order to reply. Messages are used for nothing but the reply.

People the site is about

Information about people is gathered from open sources. The person a page is about, or their representative, may ask through contacts for a mistake to be corrected or for details of private life to be removed. We consider every such request.

Who receives data

The editors do not sell or pass on the data of visitors and authors. The site runs on a hosting provider's servers, and requests to it go through Cloudflare's network, which protects the site from attacks. If ads from third-party networks appear on the site, we will update this page beforehand.

Children

The site does not knowingly collect children's data.

Changes

The editors may update this policy; a new version applies once it is published on this page. Questions: contacts.
