The Well (Quduq) is a 2014 feature film made at Uzbekfilm for the National Agency Uzbekkino, directed by Mansur Abdukhalikov from a script by Gafur Shermukhammad. Set in Soviet times in a steppe village, it follows Lalay, a well digger who accepts whatever payment he is offered and never asks for more. Some people exploit his trusting nature, and over the course of his work he concludes that people have changed and that the goodness in them is drying up. It was shot in the Jizzakh region.
