To the Ends of the Earth (2019)

To the Ends of the Earth (Japanese: Tabi no Owari Sekai no Hajimari) is a 2019 drama, a co-production of Japan, Uzbekistan and Qatar. Yoko, a reporter for a Japanese television travel programme, travels to Uzbekistan with a film crew to look for a rumoured fish and to praise a local dish, but the shoots keep going wrong. Left on her own in Tashkent, she begins to discover the unfamiliar country. Kiyoshi Kurosawa wrote and directed the film, which was made for the 25th anniversary of Japan–Uzbekistan diplomatic relations and screened at the Locarno Film Festival.
