A Kazakh-Russian co-production. Afghan war veteran Marat Ayumov agrees to guide a film crew travelling from Almaty to Afghanistan, and he has a private reason of his own for the trip. The story alternates between the present day and the early 1980s, when special-unit officers were being trained. Directed by Yegor Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky, the film was Kazakhstan's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the country's first 3D feature.
