Benom

Benom is an Uzbek pop group formed in 2010. Its members, Sarvar Azimov and Komil Fozilov, were schoolmates who sang together at school events; their first joint song was “Armon” (2006).

In 2010 the group signed a cooperation agreement with Tarona Records and released its first own song, “Qizaloq”, which became a hit on radio and in the charts. From 2012 the members also performed under the name “Sarvar va Komil”.

According to Afisha.uz, the name “Benom” means “nameless”: the candidates included “KomiSsar” and “Mehroj”, but the members chose to stay nameless and made this their brand.

The song “Soʻrama” was premiered in 2012. The members wrote “Toʻkilib”, performed by Shahzoda, which was nominated for Song of the Year at the M&TV Awards 2012. The debut album “Dard” came out in 2013.

Sarvar is the lead vocalist, composer, arranger and sound producer; Komil writes most of the lyrics and is also a composer, arranger, beatmaker and actor. Through Benom Media Production they write songs, lyrics and videos for Uzbek pop artists, including Rayhon, Lola, Munisa Rizayeva, Zarina Nizomiddinova, Asal Shodiyeva and Sardor Rahimxon.

The group was among the first in Uzbek pop to make serialized music videos: “Eslamading”, “Chunki bu biz” and “Sen borsanki”. The concert programme “Bir muhabbat qissasi” took place in 2017; after the pandemic the group performed twice a year.

The members made the film “Yurak yig’lar”: the idea was Sarvar’s, Komil wrote the script, and both played the lead roles. The release year is not given in the sources.

The film-concert “Dardim tingla osmon!” was staged in December 2024. The tenth-anniversary concert “The BEST-3” took place at the Xalqlar Do’stligi palace in Tashkent on 30 April – 5 May 2025, and the film-concert “Sen uchun” was staged there on 27–30 November 2025, with the duet “Yomg’ir” with rapper Shoxrux. The single “Chak-chak” was released on 8 April 2025.
