Biography
Maryam Ikhtiyarova was born on 21 April 1939 in the Khorezm region. She joined the Muqimiy Uzbek State Musical Theatre in 1959 and graduated from the Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute in 1963.
She played more than a hundred stage roles. They include Karomat in «Toshbolta oshiq» and a part in «Jon qizlar».
In cinema she played Halima in «The Bride from Vuadil» (1984) and appeared in «Bomba» (1995), «Buvimni qaytaring», «Dev bilan pakana», «Osmon yaqin» and «Kuch birlikda», as well as in the television series «Ko'ngil ko'chalari» and «Tutash taqdirlar».
She was named People's Artist of Uzbekistan in 1997 and received the Order «Mehnat shuhrati» in 2016. She died on 22 March 2022 at the age of 82.
