Biography

Mutabar Khushvaktova is a Tashkent-based eco-blogger and environmental campaigner known on social media as «Urikguli».

In a 2024 interview with The Times of Central Asia she said she believes the media shape public opinion, and bases her content only on source-verified information, including global statistics. She said she had worked in the field for almost three years, and planned to enrol in a European Master's programme in ecology and to create books for kindergartners, schoolchildren and students.

Afisha.uz published an interview with her in February 2024: it calls her one of the most active bloggers on social topics and says ecology has become part of her personal brand. They discussed eco-activism, the Chirchiq River, waste sorting, relations with the Ministry of Ecology and national air-quality standards.

The Yuksalish movement's «Top 40 opinion leaders» list (2024) names her an eco-activist taking part in various environmental projects and awareness campaigns. According to an ISFT Institute announcement she was named among 20 progressive people of Uzbekistan; the institute announced her as a guest.
