Biography
Akmaljon Mahmudaliyev was born in 1974 in Fergana region. He graduated from the Samarkand Cooperative Institute in 1995 (accounting) and from the Tashkent Chemical-Technology Institute in 2005 (grain processing technology).
From 2009 to 2018 he worked in the State Grain Inspectorate, first as chief state grain inspector of its Fergana regional branch and then as deputy head of the inspectorate. From 2018 he headed Uchkoprik district in Fergana region, and afterwards was deputy governor of Navoi region for agriculture and water management.
In November 2022 he was appointed acting governor of Syrdarya region and in April 2023 was confirmed as governor. In June 2023 he was elected a senator of the Oliy Majlis from Syrdarya region.
On 16 January 2025 the president removed him from the post, citing serious shortcomings in attracting investment and developing agriculture. He was succeeded by Erkinjon Turdimov.
