Behzod Hamraev

Biography
Behzod Hamraev was born in 1983 in Bukhara region. In 2004 he completed a bachelor's degree in statistics at the Tashkent State University of Economics, and in 2006 a master's degree there.
He began his career in 2004 at the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan. From 2008 he worked in the Central Bank system, rising to director of the monetary policy department (2018–2020).
In 2016 he graduated from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan, holding a master's degree in econometrics and statistics.
From January 2020 to February 2025 he was deputy chairman of the Central Bank and a member of its Board.
In February 2025, by presidential decree, he was appointed director of the Statistics Agency, succeeding Bakhodir Begalov, who had led the agency for almost eight years. He now chairs the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
