From 1981 to 2011 she worked in medicine: as an intern, then as an anaesthesiologist-resuscitator, head of a department and chief physician of an emergency hospital in Tashkent.

In June 2011 she was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and chair of the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan. From 12 December 2016 she was a deputy minister of health, and in June 2019 she returned to the chairmanship of the Women's Committee and the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
