Jakhongir Artikkhodjayev

Jakhongir Artikkhodjayev was born on 2 January 1975 in Tashkent. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics in 1996 as an economist.

In the early 1990s he started in business, opening a hairdresser and a shoe shop in Tashkent and, in 1994, a car service centre. He founded the AKFA company in 2001 and the Artel group in 2011, which he headed until 2017.

In 2017–2018 he was director of the state unitary enterprise that ran the facilities of the Tashkent City international business centre.

He became acting khokim of Tashkent in April 2018 and was appointed khokim on 21 December 2018. In September 2018 he was elected to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

On 16 January 2023 he was removed from the post of khokim of Tashkent; the president cited the city's insufficient preparation for winter. On 30 January 2023 he left the Senate.

He received the Order of Friendship (Do'stlik) in 2015 and the honorary title Honoured Builder of Uzbekistan in 2021. In August 2025 he was awarded the Order «For Devoted Service» as founder of the AKFA group.
