Jaloliddin Mukhiddinov

Jaloliddin Nosirovich Mukhiddinov is a thermal power scientist who specialises in drying and heat processes and is a professor at Tashkent State Technical University. He was born in Tashkent on 5 April 1941.

In 1963 he graduated from the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute in thermal power engineering, qualifying as a thermal power engineer. His first research concerned drying: in 1970 he defended in Tashkent a candidate’s dissertation on the drying of bulk materials in a vibro-pneumatic fluidised bed.

From 1975 Mukhiddinov headed the department of industrial thermal power engineering. His next major step was the doctoral dissertation he defended in Moscow in 1986, on the theoretical foundations and efficient methods of drying raw cotton and its processed products. With D. A. Mirakhmedov and B. S. Sazhin he co-wrote a book on mathematical modelling of raw-cotton dryers in computer-aided design systems (Tashkent, Fan, 1990).

From the mid-1990s he held administrative posts at Tashkent State Technical University: vice-rector in charge of the energy centre from 1995, and from 2002 dean of the faculty of energy and director of the institute of energy. Since 2004 he has been a professor of the department of industrial thermal power engineering.
