Sogdiana

Sogdiana (real name Oksana Vladimirovna Nechitaylo) was born on 17 February 1984 in Tashkent. She graduated from a music school in piano and in 1998 became a laureate of the republican contest for young pianists. She was a laureate of the republican contests SADO-99 (1999) and “Melodies of My Land” (2002) and of the international contest “Path to the Stars” in Saint Petersburg (2003); in 2003 she received Uzbekistan's state prize “Nihol”.

Her debut album, “Mening ko'nglim”, came out in 2001. From 2004 she released songs and videos in Uzbek — “Mening shahzodam”, “Ovora bo'lma”, “Netay”, “Sen kelma”, “Yurak mahzun” — which made up the album “Mening shahzodam… Baribir kelar!” (2005). In 2005 she was a laureate of the Discovery contest in Varna (Bulgaria) and of Canzoni dal Mondo in Italy, and played Yasmin in the film “Khoja Nasreddin: The Game Begins”.

In 2006 she took part in the sixth season of the TV project Star Factory; at the end of the year she received her first Golden Gramophone for the Russian version of “Yurak mahzun”, “Serdtse-magnit”. In 2007 she received a second Golden Gramophone for “Sinee nebo” and the Moscow mayor's “Pilar” prize. Her first Russian album, “Serdtse-magnit”, was released on 14 February 2008.

In 2009 she was named People's Artist of the Chechen Republic; the same year the video for “Na vostok ot Edema” was released, and the song earned her a Golden Gramophone (2010). Her second Russian album, “Edem”, came out in 2011. After a break of about three years she returned to the stage in 2014 with the video “Molniya”; in 2015 she presented “Epidemiya”, the Russian version of “Mening shahzodam”, and in 2016 the video “Net nevozmozhnogo” with Avraam Russo.

Since January 2018 she has worked with the label Goldenlook Management Company; her album “Ya vybirayu tebya” came out that year. In 2018 she was named Honoured Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia.
