A Soviet-Indian co-production based on Mirzo Tursunzoda's poem "From the Ganges to the Kremlin". A wealthy Indian raja, Chandr, searches for truth and concludes that equality can be reached peacefully through education; he turns his palace into a school for peasant children. His free thinking brings persecution, and with his friend Kamal he leaves India and finds refuge in a mountain Tajik village. Directed by Latif Fayziyev.
