The Diamond Belt is a two-part feature from Uzbekfilm, made in 1986 and based on Pirimkul Kadyrov's novel of the same name (1977), for which the writer received the USSR Writers' Union prize in 1983. Its heroes are a young married couple of Tashkent architects: the planners of a city district count mainly on economic gain, while the couple propose an ethnographic park and nature reserve on the banks of the Anhor canal. Vazira is played by Tamara Shakirova.
