Triptych is a drama by Ali Khamraev about three Uzbek women in a small town after the Second World War: an elderly woman in a forced marriage, a schoolteacher trying to modernise a remote district, and a young woman, Halima, who sets out to build her own house without the approval of her husband or the state. The film draws on the director's memories of his parents' lives. It won the Grand Prix at the San Remo festival in 1980.
