A multi-part historical film about the campaign of Yermak's Cossacks into the lands of the Siberian Khanate in the 16th century, in the reign of Ivan the Terrible. It was directed by Valery Uskov and Vladimir Krasnopolsky; shooting began in the mid-1980s and stretched over years, and the film was shown in 1996. It contains Yevgeny Yevstigneyev's last film role.
