Anvar Sanayev

Anvar Sanayev was born on 16 November 1968 in the Paxtachi district of the Samarkand region. He studied at the Abdulla Qodiriy Tashkent State Institute of Culture; his teachers in music were his uncle, the composer Umarjon Sanayev, and the singer Muhriddin Xoliqov.

He reached the wider stage in the late 1990s: in 1998 he sang “Aqlu hushim oldi muhabbat” on the television programme “From 7 to 70”. An album of the same name came out that year, and new albums followed almost every year (“Gulim, ayt”, “Yonaman”, “Sevgilim”, “Atirgulim”, “Muhabbat” and others).

In November 2000 he gave his first solo concert, “Meni tushun, azizam”, at the Turkiston Palace in Tashkent; his love songs earned him the audience's nickname “the singer of love”. He later performed in the regions and in stadiums, and in 2010 returned to the stage with the concert programme “Go'zalim Barno”.

He has also performed abroad; in 2019 he took part in the music contest “The Cover Up” on Kazakhstan's ZO'R channel and opened an official YouTube channel. A new video was shot for “Tor ko'cha” (2021), and a new version of “Yor dedim” appeared in 2022.
