The Twins (2004)

A 16-episode crime drama from 2004 directed by Zinovy Roizman, who also co-wrote it, with music by Yevgeny Shiryaev. Two seemingly unrelated storylines run in parallel: in Samarkand, police captain Vakhid Ibragimov faces serious trouble at home, while in the capital a young officer, Petr Erozhin, is offered a KGB job that would mean spying on his colleagues. Years later Erozhin, now an investigator, looks into crimes across Central Asia that lead him back to Ibragimov. The story moves from Central Asia through Russian provincial towns to both capitals.
