A 1984 publicistic drama from the Uzbekfilm studio based on a novel by Uktam Usmanov, directed by Giyas Shermukhamedov from a screenplay by Anatoly Galiev. Aziz Kasymov, a young plant breeder, abandons work on a new cotton variety after early tests show it has no future, and goes to Angola, where he spends several years helping local cotton growers. On his return he learns that academician Jabbarov's group has carried on his work and developed a new variety.
