Suyunchi (released in Russian as General Grandmother) is a 1982 Uzbekfilm picture directed by Melis Abzalov. Its heroine, Anzirat (Zaynab Sadriyeva), lives in a small village with her son's family; neighbours dislike her strict, meddling character. Sensing that her time is short, she hurries to settle all her affairs, and after her death the village realises what it has lost. The title is the Uzbek word for the reward given for bringing good news.
