Tohir va Zuhra (Tahir and Zuhra) is a 1945 feature film of the Tashkent film studio, directed by Nabi G'aniyev (with Yo'ldosh A'zamov) from a script by Aleksey Speshnev and Sobir Abdulla. It is based on a folk legend: the commoner Tohir and Zuhra, daughter of the khan Bobokhon, are promised to each other as children, but after Tohir's father dies the khan refuses to give his daughter to a man of low birth. The film joins the love legend to a story of a popular uprising against the khan's rule. Zuhra is played by Yulduz Rizayeva. It is considered the first Uzbek feature film released abroad.
